Solar Laptop

Okay, we all love being portable and being wireless and even though we have those two things, they don't last very long.

When we go out with our laptops, we have to bring along our cords and weighty power adapters to charge up. What if we are outside, at the park enjoying the beautiful landscape, we only last a couple of hours. But what if we had a different means of power, one that's free of charge and free of cords. We could put a solar panel on the lid of our laptops, with a shield that we could pull over it for protection when not in use. We would have a meter on our laptop just like our battery meter, that lets us know when we need to pull back the shield. Our solar panel could derive energy not just from the sun but from any light source. So even when we are indoors where there is no outlet, or it is inconvenient to access one, we could still power up from the lights in the room.

His high endeavors are an inward light
That makes the path before him always bright.
~William Wordsworth (poet)
